Life Support for Healthcare Providers
This American Heart Association course is designed to prepare a wide variety of healthcare professionals to recognize several life-threatening emergencies and to provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course includes adult, child and infant rescue skills in both the out-of-hospital and in-hospital settings.
Life Support Recertification for Healthcare Providers
This recertification course is for individuals who have a current card about to expire or that has expired in less than 30 days from date of course. A copy of your current card is required.
Heartsaver First Aid with CPR & AED
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees charged for such a course does not represent income to the Association.
Basic Life Support and Discipline Instructor Course
At the conclusion of this course, instructor candidates will be able to teach a BLS course using video and lesson maps that are part of the American Heart Association curriculum.
Course Prerequisites
- Have a current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Card.
- Be accepted by an American Heart Association Training Center.
- Contact RACC to register for the Instructor Course. Class size is limited.
Students must demonstrate proficiency in BLS skills during class. Practical skill check and written exam will be given during class. Student must be able to complete all BLS skills without prompting and achieve 90% or better on written exam to pass the course. Tuition will NOT be refunded if course is failed.
