February 13-16, 2023 - Meet in Berks Hall Lobby
Environmental Awareness Week at RACC is a celebration of the importance of sustainability on our campus and in our community as well as local sustainability efforts, opportunities, and accomplishments that begin with you.
Please join us in our first annual Environmental Awareness Week filled with events, activities, giveaways, prizes, speakers, education, and more:
Monday: RACC’s STEM division will host an environmental trivia scavenger hunt, starting in Berks Main Lobby and to involve fun giveaways.
Tuesday: In Berk’s main lobby, RACC’s Environmental Club will share their plans for the year and welcome new members. In the Raven’s Nest, the City of Reading’s Sustainability Director will give a talk on Reading’s plan for climate action and sustainability.
Wednesday: Both RACC’s Social Sciences and Foundational Studies divisions will give away plants and seeds in Berks Main Lobby. Foundational Studies will also share information on soil health while Social Sciences will share information on the effects of climate change on psychological issues.
Thursday: RACC’s Communication, Arts, and Humanities division will offer leaf art and eco-poetry workshops. Enter a raffle to win a gift basket, and hang your poetry and art on the walls of Berks Hall.
All week, The Yocum Library will share digital and physical displays and tips on how to be more sustainable. Come check out books and documentaries on sustainability.
