Working hours for this position consist of a 7.5 hour period exclusive of a 1/2 or 1 hour lunch. Specific work hours to be agreed upon by the supervisor and employee prior to the onset of employment.
The goal of Reading Area Community College’s Title V Nuestro Próximo Paso is to catalytically transform the institution by Reframing Enrollment and Advising through the implementation of coaching, proactive advising, and early interventions while simultaneously Reframing Curriculum and Instruction through the implementation of guided pathways, improved gateway course instruction, and development of a Learning Commons.
The Title V Activities Director coordinates and implements the daily component activities of the Title V grant, including faculty and staff project-related activities to meet grant performance measures and deliverables.
This position is 100% Title V Grant Funded.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Direct the collection of project data; develop and assist in project evaluations
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs and department faculty in support of the development and implementation of guided pathways
- Collaborate with Student Affairs and Enrollment Services in support of the development and implementation of an intrusive case management model incorporating Connection Coaches, Academic Advisors and/or Career Coaches to meet persistence and completion goals
- Collaborate with faculty and staff in the implementation and use of CRM and Early Alert software, IT department and administration
- Assist with the provision of essential staff and faculty development
- Assist with the creation of supportive spaces for students, staff and faculty
- Assist the Title V Project Director with monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports as required
- Participate in college committee and task force meetings as required or assigned
- Communicate effectively with various College departments, divisions and personnel
- Participate in faculty and staff evaluations related to the project
- Develop and effectively present at workshops and informational meetings
- Provide and/or procure bilingual service to monolingual and limited English-speaking program participants and/or their family members as needed to achieve the grant objectives

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in guidance counseling, education, or related field; preference may be given to individuals with a Master’s degree
- Experience in project management
- Three years of successful experience teaching and/or student support services obtained through instruction or student services
- Knowledge of and commitment to serving bilingual/bicultural student populations and others traditionally underrepresented in higher education
- Experience in curriculum development
- Attendance on Campus
- Community College experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Experience working at a Hispanic Serving Institution (college or university serving 25% or more Hispanic students) preferred
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people
- Excellent written communication skills especially in the areas of report writing and business correspondence
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills. Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or other administrative software a plus.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using
whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
