Working Hours:
Working hours for this position consists of a 7.5 hour period (between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm) exclusive of a 1/2 or 1 hour lunch. In this position the employee will be required to work 1 evening per week with specific evenings assigned at the onset of employment. The employee may be required to work hours outside of their agreed upon working hours up to five (5) times each semester (fall, spring, and summer).
Summary:
The primary focus of this position is to assist individuals to enroll in the College. Enrollment Services Coordinator (ESC-HS) will be expected to commit to and meet individual as well as team goals. The ESC-HS is responsible for generating credit and non-credit new student enrollment by establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with business and industry, community organizations, community events and educational institutions through one to one and group contact. Regular review of this staff person’s effectiveness, time allocation, program knowledge and progress toward goals will be part of the overall effort to positively impact enrollment. Based on the needs of the College ESC-HS goals may be focused on select demographic, program or other desired enrollment subsets. The ESC-HS will be expected to function as a contributing member of an overall team. Success in this position requires a high level of self-motivation, an embrace of challenging goals, the ability to develop effective relationships with a wide variety of prospective students, their families, educators, community members as well as a bias for a high level of activity.
ESC-HS’s are the first college representatives that prospective students meet. ESC-HS’s provides a general introduction to the college and facilitates the enrollment of a new student. ESC-HS’s will help the student complete the college application, help the student initially identify the appropriate major to meet their goal, begin the financial aid application process, and link to appropriate campus resources as necessary. The ESC-HS streamlines the student’s transition to the College by providing these services upfront with the goal of having a better prepared student entering the first semester at RACC. The ESC-HS will develop a strong working knowledge of RACC’s educational programs and be able to market the benefits of enrollment in these programs.
The Enrollment Services Coordinator / High School Specialist will be expected to perform all functions of this position as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Educate businesses, local organizations, public and private secondary schools and students as well as the general public about Reading Area Community College through a variety of on-campus and off campus events.
- Actively participate in the implementation of enrollment strategies to meet enrollment goals as defined in the strategic enrollment management and marketing plan.
- Create and coordinate recruiting events as needed to meet enrollment goals.
- Assist in planning and presenting at College open house events.
- Refer students to appropriate campus resources for assistance with college major, disability services, academic and personal issues, and other college related concerns.
- Conduct individual and group interviews with prospective students to provide general information about the college and its programs and services including financial aid and scholarship opportunities. Assist students with the college application process.
- Serve as a primary recruiter for assigned schools and community organizations. Coordinate visits to and establish relationships with key contacts at these locations.
- Provide RACC’s Accuplacer placement testing at high school locations as requested.
- Assess outreach and recruitment initiatives to determine how productive these activities are in reaching prospect and applicant yield goals.
- Conduct information sessions and facilitate workshops, in-person or virtually, for prospective students and their families to provide general information about the college and its programs and services including financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
- Develop and present activities to promote the College’s Community Education/Workforce Development programs.
- Maintain a consistent communication strategy with prospective students throughout the admissions process, including phone calls, email and texts.
- Assist in the coordination of the college’s on campus recruitment events.
- Assist prospective students in the Welcome Center as assigned.
- Interpret students’ high school and college transcripts and standardized test scores to facilitate the enrollment process.
- Frequent travel is required to local and regional recruitment events. Events may also be virtual.
- Utilize administrative software to track and communicate with prospective students.
- Assist with Dual Enrollment and Early Admissions for assigned high schools.
- Submit monthly reports as requested by the department supervisor.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with Advising and Enrollment Services area, the Student Affairs Division and the college at large. Participate in cross training activities as needed. May be required to attend professional development activities.
- Partner with academic divisions to meet program recruitment goals.
- Participate in at least one professional development activity annually and keep current Accuplacer Proctor Certification.
- Conduct him/herself in a professional manner and exhibit a positive image for RACC at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Two years’ experience with demonstrated success in customer focused sales, marketing, telemarketing or higher education’s admissions/recruitment
- Excellent verbal (including speaking and listening) and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and positively via telephone, e-mail, face to face, or using other media (web conferencing e.g. Zoom)
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or sales
2. Prior experience in and understanding of College admissions, recruiting, financial aid, Student Services or career placement
- Demonstrated oral and written Spanish language fluency
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Internet skills, and web conferencing tools (e.g. Zoom). Knowledge of Colleague or other administrative software a plus.
Travel:
Position requires frequent local travel to local secondary institutions; employee must have access to ready transportation.

Communication Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, either in-person or virtually.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
