Summary:

Centro Hispano (Hispanic Center) is searching for a Work-Study student to join the Centro family. We are seeking an energetic, responsible individual who has a passion for helping others. In this position, you will learn and gain the experience needed for a career in social work and human services. The position requires fluency in English and Spanish. Must possess a friendly demeanor as this position will work directly with clients of different backgrounds and needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, and provide basic organization information
• Perform clerical duties, photocopy, fax, etc. as needed
• Client registration and initial intake
• Assist in filling out documents for clients
• Data input of client information
• Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks
• Attend company functions and networking events
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-directed and able to work without supervision
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Comfortable working on their own and in a team environment
• Bilingual-English/Spanish
• IT experience a plus.
