reading area community college receives one million dollar dual enrollment grant

READING, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Education recently announced $14 million in Dual Credit Innovation Grant Program funding to 15 public institutions across Pennsylvania. Included is a $1 million grant to Reading Area Community College (RACC) to expand the delivery of dual enrollment course offerings to existing and new partnerships. These funds will support the strengthening of workforce-aligned and transfer-ready pathways in allied health, engineering, education, and integrated studies.

“Dual enrollment programs open doors for students to get a head start on college and career success,” says RACC Director of Academic Partnerships, Kristen Marcinko. “By investing in these opportunities, we’re helping more students access in-demand courses that lead to credentials and careers our workforce needs. It’s about expanding opportunity and creating pathways to a future they choose.”

Reading Area Community College partners with high schools to offer college credit for college-level courses students take at their high school. Dual enrollment students concurrently complete their requirements for high school graduation at the same time they earn college credit.

RACC is excited to announce that thanks to the Dual Credit Innovation Grant, eligible dual enrollment students in the 2026-2027 school year will be awarded one free 3 credit class.
