What is the Retesting Policy?
After completing the placement test, students meet with an academic advisor to discuss their scores and course placements in reading, writing and math. If a student believes that he/she will benefit from a retest, a request can be made to take all or a portion of the placement test through the Welcome Center at no additional charge. Students who wish to retest must wait 2 weeks before taking the test again and should use this time to prepare. The written permission of an Academic Advisor or Division Assistant Dean is required to retest a third time or earlier than two months.
To retest students can come in during walk-in testing hours which do not require an appointment. If a scheduled appointment time is preferred, please contact the Welcome Center at 610-607-6224. When checking in for testing, students must bring:
- A completed copy of the "Accuplacer Sample Test" for the portion(s) of the test that will be retaken. (Reading, ESL Reading and/or Math)
- Students retaking the writing portion of the test should review the Writing Sample section of the sample test and bring a written sample essay.
- Bring a valid photo ID
