Working Hours:
Consists of up to 11-hours per week based on the class schedule and needs of the department.
Summary:
The ESL Instructional Aid is responsible for assisting the instructor with classroom, conversational English for multi-level English Language Learners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Assist instructor and students in achieving the objectives of the program.
- Assists the ESL instructor in large group, small group, or individual instruction.
- Communicate with students using conversational English.
- Promote and nourish a positive learning environment.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Required:
High School diploma or GED
Preferred:
Associates Degree
Experience working with adult students
Experience with tutoring English Language Learners
Bilingual: English / Spanish
Communication Skills:
Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written directions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions students in English. Ability to translate as needed.
