Working Hours:
Working hours for this position are limited to 25 hours per week. Actual working hours will be agreed upon by the employee and the supervisor prior to the start of employment.
Summary:
This position provides administrative support to the Employee Recruitment and Retention Specialist, and performs a variety of Human Resources and clerical duties. The individual in this position will routinely interact with employees, prospective employees, retired employees and campus visitors and is expected to represent the Human Resources Department in a professional and courteous manner at all times. The individual in this position is expected to maintain a high level of confidentiality and will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update position search documents and files.
- Prepare search committee materials.
- Process and track employment applications.
- Prepare and post positions on the RACC website, online job boards, and selected print publications.
- Proctor pre-employment tests.
- Prepare entrance and exit paperwork, and complete various tasks related to same.
- Assist with opening day activities, training workshops, and other special events as requested.
- Record and update employee information in the HRIS.
- Assist in the maintenance of employee files.
- Prepare mail merges for various communications.
- Prepare powerpoint presentations for various purposes.
- Take minutes at meetings as requested.
- Prepare and disseminate employee communications as requested.
- Copy, file, scan, and perform other clerical tasks for all members of the Human Resources team.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree or at least 30 college credits towards a college degree in human resources or business management is highly preferred. Experience in an HR setting or professional business setting is highly preferred. Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be moderately proficient in Word and Excel, with a high level of accuracy expected. Some proficiency with mail merges and powerpoint presentations, or the willingness to learn this software, is required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.Must work well under pressure be able to meet established deadlines, and possess outstanding organizational skills. Must be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels of the College and the general public.
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, faculty or staff of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
