The Reading Area Community College-Upward Bound Program provides comprehensive services to youth who need to improve their academic preparation and have a desire to undertake and complete a post-secondary education program. Upward Bound program services include:
- career and vocational counseling
- referral to educational institutions
- counseling for college admissions and financial aid
- intensive academic tutoring in Language Arts, Latin, Mathematics and Science
- personal counseling and tutoring
- financial aid application completion assistance
- college admissions requirements and application assistance
The program offers coping skills and leadership development sessions in study skills, attitudes and values, business etiquette and decision making. Participants are also encouraged to participate in cultural events, activities and college visitations.
