Carl A. Perkins Grant
The Carl A. Perkins Grant (Perkins) is a federally funded program providing academic and counseling support services to academically and financially challenged students who are pursuing an Associate’s degree in Applied Science (A.A.S.), a college certificate or a college diploma at Reading Area Community College. Perkins is a form of education funding not paid directly to students but given as services provided by RACC and paid for by the federal government. Perkins also provides funding to update equipment used by the various technological programs (e.g., computers, lab equipment, etc).

Who is Eligible?
Students enrolled in the technological programs who are NOT planning to transfer to a four-year school and earn a Bachelor’s degree (any of the A.A.S., certificate or diploma programs). These students are automatically registered for the Perkins Program.
