The KEYS Program (Keystone Education Yields Success)
KEYS (Keystone Education Yields Success) is for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash assistance clients in Pennsylvania. TANF clients who wish to enroll or who are already enrolled in a PA community college may be eligible to participate in the KEYS program. KEYS is a program of the PA Department of Public Welfare (DPW) designed to help TANF clients go to, and succeed in, community college.
KEYS will provide a Student Facilitator at the community college to help TANF students achieve career goals by:
- Providing career counseling
- Tutoring
- Academic Support
- Assistance with Financial Aid
- Obtaining supportive services through the County Assistance Office
- Connection to community service agencies
Supportive Services for KEYS students include:
- Child care
- Transportation
- School/training registration fee (not tuition)
- Books and school or training supplies
- Test fees
- Clothing
- Equipment/tools needed for school/training
- Car purchase
- Car repair
- Motor vehicle operator fees
