Students who need help in their classes or just want to enrich their learning experience now have another place to turn. RACC offers a Supplemental Instruction (SI) program that provides student-facilitated academic support in a group setting.
SI acts more like a study group, offering techniques for taking notes and improving test-taking skills. The sessions are run by other students who have successfully completed the course.
Attendance at SI is not mandatory and all students are welcome to attend SI, which is provided free of charge. Learn more about the SI program by viewing this powerpoint.
The courses covered by SI are those that historically proven to be difficult for students. Below is the listing of courses available for the spring 2012 semester. Watch for more information on location and times after the first week of class.
If you are interested in becoming an SI leader, you can view the job description (PDF 71 KB) and complete an application (PDF 11 KB).
For more information about SI, contact Diane Hollister, coordinator of the SI program.
