Phi Theta Kappa Activities

The chapter promotes scholarship not only by informing members about scholarships available because of their membership, but also by pursuing scholarly activities, especially activities that grow out of the exploration of the Honors Study Topic, which is currently "The Democratization of Information."

Monthly meetings include chapter business and programs as determined by officers and members. Monthly meetings are generally held on the first Saturday of the month in Yocum River Room from 10am to 12 noon. Dates may vary due to college or seasonal events.

Leadership opportunities exist to serve as officers and chair committees, serve on other RACC committees to coordinate activities by invitation and need, as well as opportunities to plan and execute events. Chapter officers are invited to attend the RACC Leadership Training events.

Service opportunities include a wide variety of events which grow from the Honors Study Topic and member interests. In the past, the chapter has given service to The Children's Home of Reading, Berks County Conservancy, the Greater Berks Food Bank and Berks Women in Crisis. In addition, members have provided service to the college community by ushering at events such as graduation and by participating in Student Activities Board Events.
