Legacy Scholarly Journal is Reading Area Community College’s award winning literary publication, whose philosophy and vision is to “inspire excellence and creativity in writing and original thinking by presenting student academic work that reflects the various disciplines in a publication that honors the principles of RACC: excellence, equality, diversity, creativity and community.”
Legacy Scholarly Journal accepts work from all current Reading Area Community College students who have been enrolled in classes between the spring 2007 term and the winter 2008 term.
Intersections will accept work from Berks County high school students whose district is participating in this project.
Berks County high school faculty representatives may only submit one essay for each student chosen. That faculty representative is also responsible for submitting on behalf of the student. (Please note: A copy of the written permission form from the student’s parent/guardian Must be forwarded to the Intersections Adviser, Dr. Bahar Diken.)
Reading Area Community College students may enter any of the categories desired, but must submit a separate registration form for each submission.
Reading Area Community College students may only enter one essay from the spring 2007 to winter 2008 sessions. (We suggest that you choose the one best written, and the topic that appeals most to you.)
Multiple submissions are accepted from Reading Area Community College students within the fine art, poetry, and photography categories.
All essays, poetry, fine art and photography must be the original work of the author.
All essays must clearly reflect the following:

I give my permission to Reading Area Community College to print my original work in Legacy Vol. VI, and to post it on the RACC web site if selected for publication.
I certify that this essay, poetry, art or photography is my original work.
I certify that the essay and art was completed as a requirement for a RACC class between the spring 2007 through the winter 2008 terms. (RACC students only)
I understand that the Legacy staff reserves the right to edit my essays for clarity and accuracy of language.
