Meet the Ambassadors

Tana Acosta

Hi! My name is Tana Acosta, and I am a Secondary Education major here at RACC. I’m hoping to transfer to a four-year university to pursue dual majors in English and Music Education. Aside from being an Ambassador, I participate in the RACCy Olympics, RACC’s Leadership and Advantage Programs, I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and I perform on campus at certain events. Outside of RACC, I am a singer/songwriter, and I love creating music. I also love watching movies, playing video games, and hanging out with my friends. Being an Ambassador has had such an amazing impact on me. I came to RACC knowing no one, and now I know almost everyone there is to know on campus. I will be graduating in May of 2016, but until then, I plan to continue helping new students feel at home here at RACC just like I do.

Rachel Chlebowski

Bonjour! Je m’appelle Rachel Chlebowski, but I prefer to go by Lola. I began as a Raven Ambassador in June 2015, right after high school, and I love it! I am a Creative Writing Transfer student, but I am also very interested in everything French. I plan on going to a four-year college after RACC and dual majoring in Creative Writing and French. Hopefully, one day, I’ll be sipping a piña colada on a tropical beach writing my next best-seller. However, while I’m waiting for my novels to take off, I would love to be a professor in either French or writing.

Valeria Dominguez

Hello! My name is Valeria Peña Dominguez. I moved to Reading PA almost four years ago. I graduated from Reading High School last year. I am trying to complete an Associate’s Degree in Science, and I plan on transferring to Penn State after RACC in order to pursue a degree in Biology. This is my first year working as a Raven Ambassador, and honestly I love being an Ambassador because I have the privilege to interact with people from different backgrounds and assist them when needed.

I just completed my freshman year here at RACC. During this time at RACC, I have been able to devote my time and energy to participate in clubs on campus. Right now, I am the Vice-President of the Multicultural & International Club, and I am part of the Leadership program as well. I love to be involved in my community, college activities, and gain experience that will help me grow, not only as a student, but as a person as well, which will allow me to help myself, my family, and my community.

Bethany Fisher

Hi! My name is Bethany Ayers Fisher. I am a Science Transfer Major planning on majoring in Chemistry and Environmental Science. I am also the Secretary of RACC’s Environmental Club, Operation Green. I am originally from Mentor, Ohio, and still love my Cleveland Indians. My interests include gardening, traveling, reading and keeping my Maine Coon cat Murphy happy. I have 3 grown children, two of whom have chosen military careers. I became an Ambassador to “pay forward” my mentors and friends who have helped me along the way. I hope I can be of assistance to students both young and “old.” Think like a Proton and stay Positive!

Hy Lam

Hello! My name is Hy Lam. I am a motivated and ambitious person and I use this to help achieve my goals. I am a Liberal Arts Transfer major and plan to transfer to Temple University after graduating from RACC with an Associate degree. Currently undecided as to what major I will be taking at Temple, but the Theatre Program is interesting. I look forward to working as a Ravens Ambassador and to utilize my skills and provide excellent service to students and staff here at the college. My interests include acting, theater work, working out, yoga and studying.

Rainy Leonor

Hi! My name is Rainy Leonor and I am a Communications major here at RACC. My plan is to transfer to a four-year institution and major in Political Science and Journalism. I hope to someday be a Political Journalist or a News Anchor. This is my first year as a Ravens Ambassador and I am so excited to work at the college. Along with being an ambassador and a part-time student, I am Vice-President of the Multicultural Club and I am also in the Leadership Program. I am involved in programs outside of school such as the Greater Reading Immigration Program (GRIP), PA Immigration Coalition (PIC), and De Facto Support Group. As you can see, I love to get involved in my community and help others, which is the reason I decided to become a Ravens Ambassador.

Taneah Mays

Greetings! My name is Taneah Mays and my major is Respiratory Care. I moved to Pennsylvania in August of 2013 from Indiana. I am a single mom of two daughters. I am very outgoing and really enjoy helping others. I am excited to be a Raven Ambassador and look forward to representing RACC. My hobbies include being with family and friends, playing sports and playing board games.

Jasmine Montebon

Hello! My name is Jasmine Montebon. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, I moved to Reading, PA after studying abroad in my junior/senior year high school in the Philippines. I am a Health Science Transfer student at RACC. I plan to transfer to Thomas Jefferson's University and begin the Prelicensure BSN-RN program in the Fall of 2016. I am an honor student and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I love my job as a Raven Ambassador because I can help new students adjust to RACC and also get to meet new students every day. Outside of work, I love to travel, try new restaurants, and hang out with family and friends.

Austin Moyer

Hello! My name is Austin Moyer, and I am a Secondary Education major here at RACC. I started going to RACC in the Fall of 2014, and I just recently became an Ambassador this year. Being an Ambassador has been a lot of fun, but it is definitely a lot of work: part of my job is to make sure that new students get a feel for the atmosphere that RACC offers, so I try to make sure that every student comes to RACC with the knowledge they need, but I also want to make sure that I make students comfortable as they transition into the college. I’m glad I became an Ambassador, and I plan to continue offering as much help as I can to those who need it.

Carla Moyer

Welcome to RACC! My name is Carla Moyer and I am a nursing student. I came to RACC in 2012 as a non-traditional student, and it's been a wonderful experience. I will graduate in May of 2016 with an Associate Degree in Nursing, and I plan to continue my education to become a nurse anesthetist. In addition to being a Raven Ambassador, I am involved in Phi Theta Kappa, Student Nurses Association, RACCy Olympics, and RACC's Leadership Program.

Katie Mullen

Hello there! My name is Katie Mullen, I am a first-generation college student and I am a Liberal Arts Transfer major. After I complete my time here I plan to transfer to a 4-year college to continue my education in the grand world of Theatre. My hopes include directing and acting, although I am extremely interesting in producing as well. My activities outside of college revolve around clay-crafting, writing, reading, researching Irish history and archery. However, I try to expand my horizons in every way possible by trying new things. The Ambassador Program has brought a sense of refreshment to my life and I love the people I work with. It has provided me the opportunity to make friends and aid fellow students in achieving their goals. I look forward to the time ahead of me here at RACC as a Raven Ambassador and as a student.

Juan Pablo (Bu-Jin) Lee Na here. Simply call me Pablo. I am a 20-year-old South Korean International student pursuing the American dream. I have currently finished two full-time semesters in Science Transfer program. My plans soon after RACC contains Bachelor's degree in Aviation and joining the U.S. Army. I am a proud Ambassador and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. My interests are aviation, soccer, psychology, and the pursuit of happiness. As an ambassador, I have gained precious friendships with students and faculty members. I was able to build broader relationships with various people from different backgrounds. If anything, I am appreciative for the opportunity as an Ambassador, and I hope others can obtain the experiences I have encountered.
