October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
The Center for Academic Success will be sponsoring and providing activities to promote awareness of the serious problems of Domestic Violence and Abuse.
Activities for October:
- All Month Cell Phone Collection: Please bring your old cell phones to Berks Hall Room 209 during the month of October. The proceeds will be donated to the Berks Women In Crisis Shelter.
- Displays of literature related to Domestic Violence and Abuse in the Yocum Library
- “Table tents” of information and listed activities at RACC during the Month of October are being displayed on tables and counters at various locations at RACC
- October 21-22: Clothesline Project Display with Tee-Shirts created by survivors of domestic violence will be on display
- October 22: Miller Center 2-4pm, presentations on domestic violence by Berks Women In Crisis.
- October 28-29: Silent Victims Display. Which consists of cut-outs of life size representations of local people who have lost their lives to domestic violence.
- October 29: Ribbons & Flowers to benefit Berks Women in Crisis will be available in Berks Hall Lobby.
