Practical Nurse

The Practical Nurse Program is one year in length, plus the amount of time needed to complete the appropriate pre-requisite courses. This program can only be pursued on a full-time basis.

Candidates who have not previously attended college will be required to take the RACC placement test, for determination of pre-requisite courses, if any. Transcripts from colleges previously attended will be reviewed for approval of transfer courses. Transcripts without a math course will require the candidate to take the math component of the placement test.

Math skills will be tested in the spring semester of the program. Students must pass the math exam with an 85 percent or above to continue in the program.

All prerequisite courses must be completed with a "C" grade or better. Overall minimum grade point average must be 2.5 to enter the Practical Nurse Program.

Math Review Course for Winter Interim

There will be a 1-credit Math Review Course offered during the Winter Interim for students fully accepted into the Practical Nurse Program Class of 2012.

It will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. from Jan. 3-12 and will be taught by Diane Hollister. The course ID number is PNP-007-3221.

Registration will be in the Practical Nurse Program Suite #430 on Dec. 7, 28 and 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students must be fully accepted to enroll.
