The National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) is the largest independent student organization in the country and the only one for nursing students. Its purpose is to provide a vital and growing association interested in the needs of the student nurse.
The Student Nurses' Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) is a state constituent of NSNA. Its purpose coincides with those of legislative bodies, other state organizations, and NSNA. Dues paid for membership in NSNA automatically brings membership in the state student nurses' association. Membership benefits include the annual state SNAP convention and special programs, state publications, scholarship, leadership and networking opportunities.
At the state conventions, the SNAP House of Delegates is composed of nursing students representing chapters throughout Pennsylvania. The state Executive Board is elected from state-school-chapter representatives.
Through club fundraisers, SNAP at RACC has donated over $1,200 to a variety of organizations. Charities include Opportunity House, Children’s Home of Reading, March of Dimes, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, LifeLine, Relay for Life, Reading Public Museum and Mary’s Shelter.
SNAP at RACC has also made a $2,500 donation to RACC’s Foundation to be used toward nursing scholarships.
