Health Professions Pre-Requisites

Practical Nurse Program

High school algebra, biology, chemistry, and basics of college study skills with a “C” grade or higher. (If student did not have these courses they may be taken at RACC.) Appropriate Math and English placement assessment test scores.

Associate Degree Nursing Program

High school algebra, biology, chemistry, and an advanced lab science with a “C” grade or higher. (If student did not have these courses they may be taken at RACC.) Appropriate Math and English placement assessment scores.

Medical Laboratory Technician Program

High school biology, advanced biology, and high school chemistry in the last five years. (If students do not have these courses they may be taken at RACC before entry into the program.)

Respiratory Care Program

Applicants must first meet with the Respiratory Care Program Director and are required to complete all first-year prerequisite course work with a “C” or better before matriculating into the clinical courses in the second year of the program. Upon admission, but before starting any clinical courses, the student must have a medical examination certifying physical fitness and have current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): level C.
