The Associate in Applied Science Degree in Travel and Tourism is designed to provide students with the competencies necessary to obtain employment within the travel industry with the advantage of a college degree. Graduates of the curriculum secure employment with local, regional, and national travel agencies, with major airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, the National Park Service, hotels. Some professions awaiting you include Corporate Travel Consultant, Meeting Planner, Internet Reservationist, as well as Travel Consultant, Airline Reservationist, among others. The Travel and Tourism curriculum at Reading Area Community College is a member of the American Society of Travel Agents and abides by the professional standards set forth by this organization.

Where is the college?
Reading Area Community College is conveniently located in the urban setting of Reading, Pennsylvania, on the scenic East Shore of the Schuylkill River. It is about a one-hour drive from Allentown, Lancaster, and Philadelphia.

Where is the classroom located?
Penn Hall is the home to the Travel and Tourism classroom/lab. P119 houses the SABRE Airline Computer Reservation System, where students get hands-on experience on a “live” system.
