Respiratory Care

Associate in Applied Science Degree

The Associate’s Degree program in Respiratory Care prepares the student to assume responsible positions as part of the Health Care team. The graduate will be eligible to sit for the National Registry Examination, administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (N.B.R.C.). Respiratory Care students participate in various classroom, laboratory and clinical experiences. The laboratory provides students the opportunity for hands-on experience in preparation for clinical practicum. The classroom courses give the student the foundational knowledge in Respiratory Care. The Respiratory Care program is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (COARC: 1248 Harwood RD., Bedford, TX 76021-4244 Phone: 817-283-2835) in cooperation wit the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP: 1361 Park St., Clearwater, FL 33756 Phone: 727-210-2350) and Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). College credit may be granted through Tech Prep articulation agreements between RACC and approved secondary schools.

*Note: Please refer to the student catalog page 5. After all 8 steps have been completed please submit a Letter of Intent by April 15 for admission into classes starting in the Fall Semester.
