Practical Nurse Program

Practical Nurse Program is a 1-year certificate program for caring individuals who like:
- providing direct nursing care to people with a holistic approach
- having various career opportunities with the potential for advancement
- having job security along with respect and appreciation
- making a difference in the lives of others
This program is full time and prepares the student to take the NCLEX licensing exam for practical nursing. Classes begin in January and graduation is in December. The curriculum includes medical-surgical nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics, pharmacology, gerontology, and leadership. Students learn in the classroom, lab, acute care hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, and long term care facilities. Students also observe in the mental health, day surgery, gastrointestinal unit, and outpatient clinical arena. The faculty are knowledgeable and supportive throughout the curriculum.
